**spoilers obviously**
Hopefully most of you have watched by now. I watched last night at 10pm EST - right after the dvr clicked off. I was actually excited for this ep ...
Good points:
1. The "wall scene" - not what we all hoped for but cute nonetheless. Both of them looked a little frisky *minor squee*
2. Mr. Nigel-Murray - I really like him. He's not Zack but he is funny.
3. Booth's speech about "making a metaphorical mark" - she actually seemed to get it
4. Brennan's concern for Booth's jaw - *big squee* - right after she turned down the weirdo blind guy.
Bad points:
1. Booth's portrayal as "stupid" - that bugs the crap out of me
2. Goof!Booth - no need to say more
3. The really strange smart people - most really smart people are not that bizarre or that robotic in terms of emotions. All geniuses don't have Asperger's syndrome.
There are tons more but in the spirit of discussion, I hope to hear everyone else's opinions!

Date: 2009-04-11 07:22 am (UTC)I found the wall scene cute too - I would have like a little follow up..
"You know, Booth, there really was no imminent danger and therefore no reason for you to throw me against that wall."
"Maybe I just wanted to, Bones."
He he.
Anyway... I LOVED that little moment when she checked out his jaw. The tone of her voice, 'Are you okay?' was so tender. I really liked to see that from her.
I too really enjoyed Mr. Nigel-Murray. He's British without being a buffoon and dh declared that he is his fav of the interns. I think he must actually be British in RL as his accent is perfect - not too much.
The Angela's Dad thing was a lot of fun too - although I cringed a little at Sweets' 'You gotta run, man!' I loved that Billy had Hodgins' tattoed - awesome! Dh said that he likes the kooky stuff about this show - like having Angela's dad be in ZZ Topp with no real fanfare.. and we agreed we liked when that kind of thing gently provided the humour without shoving it in your face.
Goof!Booth was in attendance a little, I agree. I actually didn't cringe when he did the 'sexy dance' as I kind of saw it as him trying to make light of a very serious intent to not let Bones carry on walking around thinking he was a prude - and I really believed his kind of awkward, earnest silliness at that point.
Sweets was annoying again - I liked that they had him saying, 'What about me?' when Booth told Brennan she was the only smart person he liked - further evidence for my theory that the writers know Sweets is too emotionally involved in the group and that someone, surely, is going to tell him so soon.
The resonance chamber scene made me laugh with the wailing - but I liked that it was a combination of Brennan's 'auditory interference' and Booth's gun, that got them out. That seems to be a metaphor for their entire partnership.
All-in-all I really enjoyed this ep. And you must have caught me in verbose mood this morning!!

Date: 2009-04-12 02:13 am (UTC)Mr. Nigel-Murray is not my fav. temp intern (that would be Wendell), but I just wish they'd settle on someone. They'd better do it by the end of the season is all I can say!
On the bright side, there was less goof!Booth than in the last ep. We definitely had comic!relief!Booth, but I think there was less goof!Booth. But in my mind any goof!Booth is too much goof!Booth...
And yes, I totally agree -- Booth's portrayal as 'stupid' bugs the crap out of me too. In 'Intern in the Incinerator' Brennan clearly told him he wasn't stupid. Exactly why did she change her mind? Okay, okay, maybe the recent appearance of goof!Booth has something to do with it... ;)
