'Cinderella' and 'Mayhem' Post-ep Reaction

**SPOILERS ****

I watched both eps back to back, so it feels like one long one.  This may be rambly - just a warning :)

- The last scene of 'Cinderella' was fantastic.  DH actually was watching with me and he loved her taking the bottle and giving him the glass.  He also admitted that he couldn't watch without staring at her boobs in that outfit.

- I thought the Hodgins/Angela moment at the bar was really angsty goodness.  Those two are destined!  (PS - How did Wendell get such hot friends?)

-Who doesn't love Gordon Gordon?

- Am I an idiot but which one of them is he saying is fighting the attraction?  I've always assumed Booth, but something about the last scene in Sweets office just seemed like it was her.  Maybe I'm just slow but it didn't seem obvious that it was one vs the other - it seemed like both of them are fighting it pretty hard.

- Her admission about the foster family broke my heart - loved that it broke Booth's too.  I thought he was going to cry.

-I'm glad we found out more about Sweets, and this ep seemed like Wyatt was passing the torch to him, which I can live with now I think

- All in all, I loved the second ep and only liked the first.  I'm starting to get a feel for how they plan to have her character undergo some changes this season, leading up to the finale.

What about everyone else?

PS - Britt - read your rant and you go girl!

I really enjoyed both eps, but LOVED Mayhem...

Re: What GG saw:

What I wrote at Space's post:

First of all, we have to think what we are examining - not what we think is actually going on in their heads, but what GG has observed. I don't think he would presume to know this much about Brennan - she hardly wears her heart on her sleeve in public...

Then it was all about that scene at the end. Sweets worked out who GG meant from that moment with the handkerchief.

To me, Brennan was all about Sweets there - she wanted to make him feel better, both after seeing that he had gone through a similarly traumatic childhood and after the last ep (probably still feeling bad for the Daisy cock up). She shared her story with him and asked Booth to do the same and the ONLY reason he did was because she asked him to. He was all about dragging Sweets back to his for dinner before she gave him that imploring look. This Sweets sees.

Then she hands him back the handkerchief and I love that she puts it in his pocket - deeper meaning for her? Handing him a little bit of her heart? Maybe. But it was a dramatic device, to give us first Booth's little look of surprise (gulp!) that she did that, such an intimate thing, and then his putting his hand there just for a second, over his heart as though he could capture that and hold on to it.

That is what Sweets saw, IMO.

It was Sweets that mentioned denial and sublimation of feelings, GG said it's not that it's that one of them knows full well how they feel and struggles with it everyday. It's not about denial so much IMO.

I think Booth struggles with his feelings because he knows she's not ready. He can't push her - he's said this before. She's not there yet.

You and I know she could be soon - she is getting there - handing him a little bit of her heart each time.

But yeah, GG meant Booth.

....So that's my take on it!! Long-winded as usual. I just don't think anyone would describe Brennan as struggling with these feelings every day as she's only just beginning to discover them. Booth, on the other hand, I think is well aware of how he feels.

DOC!!!! I've rewatched the Hodgela scene a few times and I can't tell what he pushes... or does he just turn off the phone???

And my hubby agrees with your hubby about the red top. :-)

I LOVED, in a completely irrational way, this episode (MotC) It was absolutely perfectly what I've come to expect from this show that I love. I thought it was so well done.

I'm so torn on who Gordon Gordon meant. Initially I was all about Booth... because DUH! It's clear that he loves her so much. But the thing is... Gordon stated that he disagreed with everything that Sweets said. So, doesn't that mean that he thinks that neither of them are sublimating. And if one of them STRUGGLES over the attraction, then I'd say it's Brennan. I've never thought for a minute that Brennan isn't completely attracted to Booth... just that their partnership and the line and her accepting of everything at face value makes her think that she's the only one who feels that attraction. Whereas I think that Booth is also completely aware of the attraction, but accepts it and is just waiting until Brennan is ready for eventually and someday and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAN!!! She's ready!!! She just doesn't think that you think of her that way!!! URGH!!!!

ETA: I think that my key word is Attraction. If attraction is interchangeable with feelings... then I'd definitely have to go with Booth... because I think that Booth has more than attraction, I think he has deep abiding love for Brennan. And I certainly think that Brennan has feelings for Booth... but I think those are TOTALLY sublimated or just misunderstood because she's never wanted or accepted anything on that transcendent level of LOVE, or admitted it, until just recently. But again... I felt like Wyatt's key word was "attraction." Because I do feel that Brennan regularly fights her attraction to Booth... Whereas Booth just accepts it and keeps kind of hinting at it... but is waiting because he knows that it's MORE than attraction for him... and he needs it to be more than that for her too.

But then, I'll read some incredibly insightful comments from someone and I'm back to thinking that it's Booth. So... *shrug* I don't know if we'll ever know. I think it's going to be one of those personal interpretation things... unless... somehow it comes out at the end.

But I'm SO SO SO happy with the writers and the progression and the way they are really building to the spoilers and not just dropping them on our heads. Sometimes these writers struggle with that fine line between subtlety and anvils... and while I usually don't care because I love it no matter what, I feel like they've been so freaking fabulous at this lead up and I'm SO SO SO hopeful that we may actually GET to have our cake and eat it too. That the writers may step up and say "This is not Moonlighting, there is no curse, a couple can GET together and still have a compelling exciting show" PLEASE WRITERS!!!! I HAVE FAITH.

And really... I didn't mean to yell so much. :-))
