Oh holy crap, doc. What then? Brennan becomes his sugar-mama?! I dunno, I don't see them giving up the partnership unless there's just NO other way. Don't you think they would at least TRY to "acknowledge that there are some emotional considerations" with Sweets and see if the partnership could be salvaged in light of the realizations? I'd definitely hope so.
And the "heading towards the light" was definitely the impression they left us with at the end of Critic. I don't put any doubt in the possibility of them following up on that in the finale. BUT, I wouldn't consider that to be real!sex. Not that I'm absolutely adamant that it BE real!sex and would stop watching the show or anything... but that would be Booth's anesthetic induced dream. Unless his SuperBooth!powers have made him prophetic now, as well. *sigh* We could call in Mulder and Scully on that one. :)
I'm just saying that a gazillion shows have used this plot device - the 'Bones' writers aren't above it.
What if he has what appears to be some permanent health problem? Or it appears he chooses to continue to "head towards the light"? Definite cliffhangers.
Have I just gone down the worst-case scenario road or what?
yeah I really would hate it if the cliffhanger has ANYTHING WHATSOEVER to do with Booth's life hanging in-the-balance. That's just too dirty (HH, you hear me???). I'm okay with it being a relationship issue... one of them "acknowledges the attraction" - maybe even out loud. *gasp* Something like that, I can handle. Even Real!Sex ONCE, and dealing with the inevitably awkward fall-out of that, I can handle. The non-potential of Booth dying would be a stupid cliffhanger of epic proportions. DB is not leaving the show. I know - he could be a zombie. I hear they make for good entertainment. ;)

I just had a crazy thought:
What if they have sex like two normal people because they're sexually attracted to each other? And since they work together and are good friends, it's awkward and weird and that's the fallout.
I think we can all agree that Brennan's characterization has been all over the place this season (hmmm... maybe she's "struggling" with something?!? *little cheer for Team Brennan*)... I mean it seems that just when we start to see some real emotional connection from her, they revert her back to "lacking empathy" and I know I'm not alone in being really tired of that pattern.
Even my DH made a comment while watching that she's an emotional nightmare - one minute she's a robot and the next she's crying in the hospital waiting room.
He said that if she wasn't so hot, Booth should have kicked her to the curb years ago, lol.
lmao! I had lots of "peanut gallery" comments last night as well. He's just lucky I'd already watched the ep twice and the good parts about 15 times. lol!
oh we have the boob discussions too. last night it was when she was wearing the pink button-up shirt that was all gapping open. we both prob enjoyed that part a bit too much. ;)
