I thought he came across as a pompous ass. And his whole "our science doesn't suck as bad as theirs" reasoning, was total crap.
I didn't come right out and say it that way, but you've got it nailed! :D And yes, his scientific reasoning was screwed. And I don't believe his answer to boot. I get (and can forgive) the time compression. It's the total incorrectness that I can't get past.
