For some time now I've been part of two book clubs, and thought  I would begin sharing what we're reading.  In one, this month I am reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, a book I haven't read since high school.  We're reading the 'Insight Edition' which has trivia, and historical notes throughout.  I'm hoping I feel differently about it this time around, that's all I'll say.

My second book club is a little more relaxed, we meet whenever the majority of us have finished the book which is usually about every six weeks.  In honor of Black History Month, we're reading Cane River by Lalita Tademy.  It was an Oprah selection a good while back.

I won't give away plot, but I do hope to share some general opinions each month about the selections.  I'd also love to hear from others (no spoilers please) that have read or are reading any of them.  :)

I've read Pride & Prejudice, and I really liked it on my first read, but when I read it again (although it was not too long after, so that could be a cause) I didn't like it as much. I'm a bit of a sucker for romance, though, so I guess it depends on your taste.
Hope you're having fun reading!

It took me several chapters, probably the first 3rd of the book to get into 'P&P'. Once I warmed up to it I really liked it. Not enough to go out and buy the Jane Austen anthology, but I'll probably rent the movie. ;)

Hope you don't mind me butting in here, but P&P is one my favorite books.

I enjoyed the Kiera Knightley movie, but if you really want a version that is true to the novel (and if you have alot of time on your hands) check out the BBC version with Colin Firth which is something like five hours long. (But I loved every minute :o)

Colin Firth might be worth the time :) thanks for the rec.

And always feel free to butt in - at least I know someone is reading my rambles!
