Am I the only one that LJ has been fucking with lately? Every time I edit my Favorite Fics post, it erases half of it. Which takes FOREVER to recreate!
My suggestion: stay out of the Rich Text Editor as much as fucking possible. It screws everything up, big time.
If you go to LJ Home and read their Maintenance Spotlight (or WTFever it's called) they have some suggestions and a list of issues that have been going on lately.
Of course, staying out of RTE means that you have to have some HTML knowledge. If you need to know anything, I have very limited knowledge that I can pass on... otherwise, LJ SUCKS BALLS RIGHT NOW when it comes to posting (and especially editing) anything.
Kate gave me this link the other day, which may or may not be of help... I haven't had to really try to use it yet. And also the FAQ's here at LJ will give you the code setup for most things.
And another thing... do you use Firefox? If so, go here for the LJ Hook add-on for Firefox. It allows you to simply right click and choose from a drop-down menu to do some coding. (And yes, it's been working for me lately even in the HTML editor of posting entries...)
Oh, that is a real pain in the neck! LJ can sometimes just be such a $%&%^$%!!!! Sorry it's been giving you a hard time. The suggestions above are all I've got for you too. The RTE was supposed to make your life easier, not harder!
