How Did You Survive the Strike?

I'm amazed that as a culture, we often define ourselves by our forms of entertainment.  Music, books, television, movies, etc.   Although I try to not let myself become sucked into that vortex - it happens.  And I confess to being more than a little depressed about the lack of my favorite shows this spring, due to the WGA strike.  (Support the strike in theory but missing out on my faves was a drag).

So... I'm curious to know, now that we are on the cusp of new eps of our favorite shows and new release dates for movies we were anticipating, how did everyone pass the time you normally would have spent watching tv or movies?

I rediscovered music that I had forgotten about, I watched an entire series ('Angel') in re-runs thanks to the magic of dvr, started a book club, and discovered a fandom for Jack Sparrow/Elizabeth Swann fics that I love.  Oh, and I started a LJ account, just in case there is someone out there that gives a rat's ass when I start to ramble on about nothing *grins*.

Really can't wait to hear what everyone else did!

*waves hand in the air* I give a rat's ass!

Hello :)

Well I have mostly coped by writing fan fiction.. and reading it of course.

I am lucky I suppose that I am in the UK, as I have fav shows over here to keep me busy until Bones returns. But that's not much consolation for no new eps of my absolute fav show though :(

Must have been weird / still be weird being over there with hardly anything new on telly.

I have been making icons too - now I've started I can't seem to stop, it's addictive. Appeals to the photographer in me I think.

And been reading fanfic in another fandom for Ashes to Ashes (Life on Mars spin off) which I am loving at the mo.

God - absolutely can't wait for Bones to restart though! In the UK we get Knight on the Grid next, which became one of my fav ever eps when I saw it (ehem, on YT).

xx
