Hey Ya'll,

I'm giving a fancy southern shin dig at my house for a bridal shower and need an alcoholic lemonade punch to serve. Any of you have recipes? I want something bubbly but not necessarily with champagne. (Has to be lemonade because the colors for the shower are yellow and white).

Thanks lovelies.

The first thing that popped into my head was whiskey sours. Alcoholic, lemony, and a good spring/summer beverage. But they aren't bubbly, I don't think, though maybe there's some way you could modify the recipe? I don't know, but there's my suggestion for whatever it's worth. Good luck.

That's funny, it was one of the first things I thought of too! It's definitely on my short list, or at least a version of it. I've seen several punch recipes that include sour mix and the makings for whiskey sours. It is definitely a very good summertime party drink :)

this recipe is for spiked pink, but you could use yellow probably. i don't know if it would turn a weird color w/the beer.... worth a shot. i can vouch for its deliciosity :) yes i made that up. :)

1 12oz can frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
3 12oz bottles beer (not dark), chilled
¾ cup vodka, chilled

Stir together ingredients. Serve over ice. Makes 1 ½ quarts.

See, I've seen this recipe several times and could not wrap my mind around the fact it uses beer. So I'm really glad to have someone vouch for it's deliciosity :) Definitely plan to try this now (because of course I'm having taste testings before the big party, lol).

i was the same way!! I was like "uh, how could that be any good at all???" i recommend a beer that pairs well w/citrus like blue moon or shocktop - if you go to a place that has single-bottle beers maybe try a few different ones!! :)

Oh yeah, good idea. Plus Blue Moon is also kind of yellow anyway.

Remembered a punch I haven't made in ages. It's very refreshing. I've only made it with dry, white wine, but you could probably substitute with sparkling wine instead. Make sure you make it just before serving not to lose all the sparkle!

1 part wine (one bottle for a large bowl)
2 parts lemonade
1 6 oz can of frozen orange & pineapple juice or similar flavor(s)
slices of lemon
original recipe also has thin slices of firm, red apples, but omit or add something yellow, like star fruit. [White] peaches would have worked if in season!

Here's a tip about the ice, if you didn't already know. Instead of adding ice cubes that melt and make the punch watery, freeze water in a tupperware container or similar and plonk one of those in the bowl before you mix.

This sounds very much like what I was thinking in my head, but hadn't found a recipe yet. I think I may try both with dry white and sparkling and see which one I like the best when I do a test run. I'll let you know! Thanks, hon.

Yes, do let me know how it turns out with the sparkling wine. If you want it to have a bit more bite I suppose some vodka/lemon vodka would work.

Feel free to share about any goodies you plan for this party :)

i've made a sangria recipe VERY similar to this one, but HATE dry wine. I used New Age, which is a sparkling white, but I bet any moscato would work and be DELICIOUS!!

Someone who likes sweet/semi sweet wine, fabulous, you can have mine! Feel free to send any dry wine my way, I prefer it that way ;)
