Twilight Series ...

I know this came up several months ago but what are ya'll's opinions ("ya'll" is a word, let's get that out of the way) on the 'Twilight' series, by Stephanie Meyer?  I read the first book yesterday (yes, in 4 hours) and I'm not sure I want to commit to this series.  It was good, and obviously a pretty easy read, but seriously, do I want to get emotionally involved here or not?  I can't seem to make up my mind if I want to make the emotional investment.  Or will there be and emotional investment?  Anyway, I know you gals won't steer me wrong.

Ooh, ooh - I know, I know! Call on me!

Seriously, like I told Bertie, Angel didn't sparkle ...

He's the penultimate for me, so I'm not sure I can buy into this series. Still pondering ...

This sparkling vampire thang is news to me... completely cracktastic snort-thru-your-nose awesome news ;) In what way does he sparkle exactly?!

Maybe you could pick the second book up cheap somewhere and see?

LMAO - when the Twilight vamps go into daylight, they sparkle. Like diamonds.

No shit, she actually wrote that. I'm going to go see if I can find the quote for you. :)

ETA: "Edward in the sunlight was shocking. I couldn’t get used to it, though I’d been staring at him all afternoon. His skin, white despite the faint flush from yesterday’s hunting trip, literally sparkled, like thousands of tiny diamonds were embedded in the surface."

Also, at one point Edward asks Bella, "Do I dazzle you?"
For realsies. *shakes head*

OMG LOL - oooookay!

So he doesn't burst into flames in daylight: bonus. But your friends are kind of curious:

"Who's your shiny new boyf .. no literally, he's shiny?"
